HAVANA, Fla. — The Florida Department of Environmental Protection awarded $13 million to north and central Florida Communities.
Havana gets $1 million of that pie.
It’s for the town’s new water well project, which includes a new well and upgrades to the water storage unit, treatment, pumping, and water main.
The town Manager, Howard McKinnon, says Havana has received local and federal grants to help pay back the loan.
Construction on the new well is expected to begin in six months.
McKinnon said, “Government is here to serve and to bring improvements to the community. Certainly this will do that. Not only are we drilling a new well that will provide better quality water, but we’re also upgrading our monitoring system.”
