HAMILTON CO., Fla. – The identity of the woman killed in a Sunday morning crash has been released.
According to F-H-P, 32-year old Jessica Nichole Leach died after a car crash on County Roads 249 and 158.
Leach was driving a 2005 Pontiac G6 west on County Road 158 when she approached the intersection at County Road 249. A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was also approaching the intersection at an opposite direction.
Leach attempted to cross the intersection and crossed in front of the Silverado, driven by 52-year-old Darrly Lorraine Carter.
The front of Carter’s vehicle hit the passenger side of Leach’s. Carter’s vehicle traveled off the roadway onto the west shoulder while Leach’s vehicle overturned onto its driver’s side and hit a utility pole.
Leach was pronounced dead on the scene while her passenger, a juvenile male, was taken to Shands hospital in critical condition.
Carter and her passenger received only minor injuries.

It happened around 12:15 a.m on County Road 249 at County Road 158.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the 32-year-old woman was driving west when she tried to cross over in front of another car, cutting it off.
They crashed, causing the woman’s vehicle to overturn, hitting a utlity pole.
She was pronounced dead on the scene and her passenger was transported to Shands hospital in critical condition.
Occupants of the other vehicle only received minor injuries.
